Connect your AI to your inventory

MCP (Model Context Protocol) lets compatible AI assistants work with Tana. Connect ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, or another MCP-capable agent to the inventory you already manage.

Ask “What is running low?” or “Add these 12 items from this receipt.” Your agent can look up stock and make inventory changes using your permissions, within the one team you choose.

MCP integration is included in the Free plan. See the docs for compatible clients, setup steps, and available operations.

From October 1, 2026, Tana no longer charges by the number of users. Items and members are both unlimited, so you can invite everyone on your team without counting heads.

Going forward, Tana plans to offer paid AI features that cut the day-to-day work of managing inventory. Until they launch, every current feature, including adding items, inviting members and scanning barcodes, is free to use.

Tana was born in 2018 as an inventory app for a university lab. Whether one person keeps the records or a whole team shares the work, we want to keep offering a simple, easy-to-use service. We are preparing AI features as a new option toward that.

We'll share what the AI features do, what they cost and when they launch as soon as each is decided.
